Rajiv's 'triumph'

I woke up the morning of 20th August only to see full page advertisement by ministries / PSUs / loyal people. Its good to remember those people who have shaped the India. Its our tradition. Then again next morning I came across Rajiv in Shekhar's 'National Interest'!! Puzzled! What's so special in his accidental tenure of Prime-ministership?
Shekhar Gupta has counted only first year and called it as tri-triumph. No problem with that. Its really commendable for India Democracy and Rajiv to achieve peace in those troubled areas, particularly the most successful - Mizoram. But what next? Can Shekhar Gupta or Indian Express have 'that' to critically analyse the following years of Rajiv's tenure. The 'tri-triumph' has faltered itself in a year except Mizoram. Punjab violence continued for next decade. Assam still 'welcoming' illegal migrants'. What kind of triumph it is?
He was reluctant leader and became Prime Minister by accident, having 415 seats!! Still stability of his govt is questionable. 3 Finance Ministers, 6 Foreign Affairs Ministers, 4 Planning commission Deputy Chairman, and many cabinet reshufflements!! With 415 seats he couldn't push Panchayat Raj bill. Some talk about his economic reforms, but just think of P. V. Narsimha Rao. Then think about his major 'achievements' - Shikh riots, Bhopal Gas traged, Bofors, Shahabano - Ayodhya Shilanyas, IPKF in Sri Lanka.
I am always surpised and then saddened about how little sense of history we have. Despite giving such 'incredible' tenure, we name each every second scheme, road, bridge by his name. But from whose pocket?

Just read one article by Bharatkumar Raut, Editor of Maharashtra times, (http://maharashtratimes.indiatimes.com/articlelist/1537439.cms)

Its all about the Marathi in Mumbai. The situation is very pathetic here. And we Marathi are responsible for that. On the same issue Shivsena was formed way back. With the same issue, they captured power first in BMC and then at Vidhan Sabha. But somewhere someone went wrong, and situation is as it was! Shivsena failed to mark upto expectations. We could not stop the Biharis or North Indian to come here. We can't stop them legally. Every Indian has rights to earn their Bread-butter. But look at the effects of this "infiltration" in Mumbai. Now Mumbai is reached on its saturation point. It can't bear more. The infrastructure here can't bear any more now.

If we look and think on present propaganda going on in media, then we understand that their is one hidden agenda going on. One MP demanding separate Mumbai from Maharashtra, and he is getting Padma, new proposal for restructuring constituencies making Marathi voters in-effective in Mumbai. And one thing to note their are large number of Marathis supporting for separate Mumbai. This tendency is self-destructive.

Outsiders claim that We, Marathi unnecessarily cry for "Marathi Asmita". But it is need of time, and why should we not bother about "Asmita". When entire nation was under Moghal rule, that was Marathi Manoos who roared from Sahyadri "Har Har Mahadeo"!! This was our culture.

So, I appeal every Indian to understand Mumbai.
Mumbai BMC Election 2006!!

Only two days are remaining. The great grand shows, road shown, rallies come to end today. Now everybody's eye is on 2 nd Feb, the result day.

In last days the Sena-BJP became confident about their victory. Because the opposition remain only of MNS. The Congress and NCP are busy in battling with each other. RR Patil alias ABA and 'GURU'das Kamath are in full form batting like anything. (Marathit nusati adalapat karat ahet). They know they couldn't get the hot sit. The NCP has the rarest chance to win BMC.

What I think is their is some understanding between Balasaheb and BaramatiSaheb like 'Mumbai, Thane is yours and Pune, Pimpri is ours'. All their moves indicates this.

According to Abhi(My cousine) and me, what we conclude is Sena will retain BMC and they will cross 100 mark. The Sena-BJP both will capture BMC with Sufficient majority. The statistics will be like:
Sena : 100 to 105
BJP : 25 to 35
Congress: 50-65
NCP: 25-30
MNS: 15-20
Others: 20

The biggest looser this time will be Raj Thakre's MNS. The hype and glamour created by Raj is over I think. He has no other face to show. And his sole aim is to divide Marathi votes. But Marathis in Mumbai can't deny the fact that Sena was always been there of them. So they will surely vote for Sena in large nos. if the MNS lost this time (20 seats are more and less loss), we can surely say the end of MNS. Becuase Raj charisma is limited to Mumbai and in some proportion to Nashik. But if he can't perform in Mumbai, rest of state will never entertain him. So 1st Feb is going to be important day for him.

UDF will emerge as real winner in this elections. Thanks to Balasaheb for his two grand rallies one at Shivaji Park with Narendra Modi, and Second in Thane. But he should understand that Balasaheb will never be there in any of next election. It will be difficult for UDF then to hold the remote of Sena by not taking part in active politics. He has to enter into main streamline of politics.

These are after-elction things...

Let us hold our eyes on 2 nd Feb.
BMC Election & aftermath !!

Its a great Victory for Sena-BJP. Its real relief come for Uddhav, who is real winner after this election. That can be seen from his photo showing his muscles. But strangely Raj came out with brave face after, we can say, defeat in BMC. He came out with strong face to answer media. Nashik has kept the Raj wave up. But he was expecting and also the media was expecting more success in Mumbai. But he failed to make the show. The reason may be many. But main reason, what I think is that, there was great sympathy for existence of Mumbai this time. And it help Sena a lot.

After 11th July Blasts, and the outrages going on in other part of city, the Muslim appeasement going on, the Khairlanji and other incidents affects the Mumbaikar's minds. "Only Sena can save Mumbai", type reaction reflects in the city. Even, those who opposed Sena from long years and who were the victims of Sena policies, were of the view that Sena should remain in the City. One South Indian lady said that while she was not going vote for Sena, But Mumbai needs Shivsena and Bal Thakaray. That helped a lot to Sena.

Congrats to Sena and Mumbaikars (that also include me now!!)

Vande Mataram.

wait for "Test begins for Uddhav !!"
Media at the TOP !!

After the great victory of Sena -BJP in Mumbai and Thane municiple corporations, its very puzzling to watch the media and its coverage. On the day of results iteself, CNN-IBN and its Rajdeep started with the question "Are Mumbaikars are the biggest loosers after this Election?" Why ? Why? Even though the answer is No by most of the SMS'ers, but the Rajdeep was still reiterating and creating picture that this is bad for Mumbai to have Sena back. Rajdeep if you talk of democracy and its for people then why you and your media always couter win of Sena or BJP, the so called "communal" parties.

As soon as it became clear that Sena won the BMC, the media had reduced the coverage of the BMC election. If it happened like, Sena would loose as the Media wanted, it would have been Diwali for media. They would have called many 'experts' to discuss and analyse the loss of Sena!!

We can't expect much from this "Sick"ular Media !!
